Whether you’re a longstanding volunteer on the Free Legal Answers platform in need of a refresher, a solicitor who has only recently registered to volunteer on Free Legal Answers, or you’re a solicitor who has never heard of Free Legal Answers but is keen to get involved in pro bono, this event is for you.
Free Legal Answers is an online platform managed by LawWorks. Individuals who cannot afford to pay for legal advice and are not eligible for legal aid can use the platform to ask a legal question and receive initial pro bono legal advice from a volunteer solicitor.
This is a fantastic way to get involved in Pro Bono – or use it as a starting point – as Free Legal Answers works around you. Whether you answer one question or 100 in a year, your expertise and time can make a real difference.
Areas of law covered by Free Legal Answers are Family, Housing, Employment & Consumer.
In this session we will start with a brief introduction about Free Legal Answers and then we will hear from two volunteer solicitors about their experience of regularly volunteering on the platform.
This will then be followed by a demonstration of how to use Free Legal Answers, information about resources available to support you when using the platform and we will end with an opportunity to ask any questions you may have.
