Law firm Geldards has announced two new partners in its Cardiff office in the latest round of New Year promotions for 2025.

The new partner promotions came into effect from 1st January, bringing total number of partners across the firm to 64. The Senior Associates promoted to Partner in Cardiff are:

  • Aysha Chouhdary – Family
  • Bethan Walsh – Charity & Third Sector

Aysha is one of the few family lawyers in the UK offering advice on religious, cultural and international jurisdiction issues particularly Shariah Law and Islamic Rulings. She was instrumental in establishing a new Shariah Family law service for the firm last year and has won numerous awards and accolades over her career for her contribution to Family Law.

Bethan, Head of the Charities team in Cardiff, has also been promoted to Partner. Bethan is a fluent Welsh speaker, often advising local charities on governance and contractual issues in Welsh. A charity trustee herself, she understands the real world issues facing not for profit organisations and plays an extremely active role supporting a wide range of local communities in the third sector.

Jeff Pearson, Chief Executive at Geldards, said:

“Last year resulted in some exceptional achievements for the firm driven by our talented colleagues who worked tirelessly to steer the business forward, embracing new opportunities and challenges to provide a first class service for our valued clients.

“Our talented workforce is at the heart of our success, and I would like to pay tribute to every member of staff who has achieved a well-deserved promotion this year.”
