The Development Bank of Wales has announced its new legal panel to cover its property-based investments and services, with a note on the high standard of submissions which ‘speaks to the quality of our legal services sector in Wales’.

The new procurement process for Property Services included a ‘meet the buyer’ event, hosted in collaboration with Legal News Wales to ensure an increasingly transparent tendering process for law firms in Wales.

Development Bank of Wales and Legal News Wales wanted to raise awareness of the new panel opportunity and engage with as many law firms as possible. The two Meet the Buyer events hosted in June 2024 welcomed a diverse range of law firms offering relevant residential and commercial property expertise.

The tendering process took place later in 2024 and the Development Bank has now announced the full panel.

Cenydd Rowlands, Property Director, Development Bank of Wales, said:

“I would like to thank all the firms that participated in the detailed tender process. The standard of submissions was very high indeed and speaks to the quality of our legal services sector in Wales.

“With the process now concluded, I am delighted to welcome those successful firms to our property legal services panel.

“I would also like to thank Legal News Wales for all their support during this process, especially in helping raise awareness of the tender opportunity. The fact that a number of the successful appointees are firms we hadn’t worked with previously is testament to this.”

He added that the expertise and insights from panel law firms will ‘form an essential part of our work as we continue supporting property construction projects across Wales’.
