Legal Counsel
- Location: Bristol – Hybrid Role
- Salary: £80,000 – £100,000
The opportunity
TSRLegal are currently supporting a large commercial firm based in Bristol are currently looking to recruit a Legal Counsel to join the Legal team in Bristol.
You will be responsible for overseeing and manage the full spectrum of the commercial contracts across the business.
In this role, you will be responsible for drafting, negotiating, and managing contracts with clients, suppliers, and internal stakeholders. You will work closely with various departments, ensuring compliance with regulations, optimising business strategies, and driving the overall efficiency of commercial processes.
Key Responsibilities
Contract Management:
- Oversees the entire contract lifecycle, including drafting, reviewing, negotiating, and managing client and supplier contracts.
- Support effective contract governance by preparing and advising on change orders, variations, and statements of work.
- Manage renewals and amendments to accommodate changes in scope, services, or products.
Compliance and Risk Management:
- Collaborate with the compliance team to ensure adherence to legal and regulatory requirements, standards, and security protocols.
- Facilitate client/regulatory audits and support the achievement of compliance certifications.
- Provide guidance on Intellectual Property protection and dispute resolution.
Bid and Tender Support:
- Review and draft proposals for new bids and tendering processes, optimizing success while mitigating risks.
- Flow down head contract terms for sub-contracting and support new product launches with appropriate contractual documentation.
Stakeholder Collaboration:
- Advise business teams on contract requirements through handovers and guidance.
- Provide support to IT, Finance, Marketing, Compliance, People, and Facilities teams in negotiating supplier contracts.
- Liaise with external lawyers and subject matter experts
Qualifications & Skills
- Strong knowledge of contract management, including drafting, negotiation, and dispute resolution.
- Familiarity with intellectual property law and compliance standards..
- Experience with project management, pricing strategies, and procurement.
- Relevant qualifications in contract management or procurement.
- Strong critical path analysis and business consultancy skills.
- Proven ability to manage outsourced service provisions.
- Exceptional organisational and prioritisation skills to align workload with strategic objectives.
