Legal News Wales is delighted to announce that Browne Jacobson has joined the platform as a Community Partner, on the back of a wave of growth for the national law firm in Wales, and the official opening of its Cardiff office last week.
Browne Jacobson opened its first office in Cardiff earlier this year, although the full-service law firm has over 25 years of heritage in working with Welsh-based clients, including the Welsh Government, the Independent Monitoring Authority for Citizens Rights, Natural Resources Wales, a number of local authorities, health boards and other arm’s length bodies in the public sector; and Sodexo, Ogi and SASA Group UK in the private sector, amongst others.
The firm has announced a number of appointments this year and is on an active recruitment drive across all fields of work.
On the announcement of the partnership with Legal News Wales, Laura Hughes, Partner and Executive Lead for Wales, and Tim Edds, Partner and Head of Cardiff at Browne Jacobson, said:
“We are delighted to be partnering with Legal News Wales. Having just opened our new Cardiff office we were looking for several things in a partner, all of which Legal News Wales gives us.
“We wanted to partner with an organisation that knows the legal market in Wales and can help us further our already strong reputation for public sector work in Wales, and to raise our profile across other sectors. We also wanted to work with an organisation which really cares about the development of the legal profession, and is prepared to collaborate with us to talk about more than just the law, on topics such as client service, social mobility and diversity and inclusion.
“We’re excited by the plans we have for content, podcasts, round tables and more and can’t wait to get started!”
Emma Waddingham, Editor, Legal News Wales, added:
“With an exceptional and award-winning track record for its equality, diversity and inclusion initiatives, and for tackling social mobility challenges in the sector, Browne Jacobson is a beacon of excellence in making legal services a more diverse, accessible and vibrant profession. I’m really grateful for the team’s enthusiasm to share their experiences, approach and the impact of change.
“We’re able to tap into the firm’s enviable client list, technical experience and network to present unique events, insight and training for the wider legal profession, aspiring lawyers, the public sector and professional services in Wales. It’s a pleasure to bring Browne Jacobson into the conversation and spotlight its work, ambitions, client care approaches, culture and impact.”
Legal News Wales welcomes legal practices to join as Community partners, to help us showcase excellence in the profession in Wales, to inspire and inform others, and collectively elevate the profile and work of the Welsh legal sector.
Laura added that the firm is excited and proud about its future in Wales and to already work on ‘major projects which are key to the Welsh economy. We want to continue to work on projects, and with clients, who are integral to Wales’ future’. She said:
“We expect to grow over the next couple of years and so if anyone in the law in Wales is interested in what we have said, we’d encourage them to get in touch to discuss opportunities with Browne Jacobson LLP.”
On Thursday 5th October 2023, the law firm welcomed clients, collaborative partners and the Welsh Government at a celebration of the launch of it’s Welsh office located at 36 Park Place, in Cardiff. The Counsel General for Wales and Minister for the Constitution, Mick Antoniw MS, gave a keynote speech at the event in the Principality Stadium on the eve of the Legal Wales Conference 2023 (at which Browne Jacobson attended as the headline sponsor) and the opening of the legal year in Wales.
