The legal sector jobs market in Wales is ‘back to pre-pandemic levels’ according to a leading legal recruiter.
Sarah Castle, Divisional Head of Legal at Yolk Recruitment, reports that the majority of the vacancies her team now handles are new positions, created to help expand and support busy legal teams across Wales.
She said: “This snapshot of the market is highly encouraging.
“Employers have settled into virtual interviews and on-boarding of new recruits. Many lawyers have worked in their lockdown-placed positions for almost a year, having never set foot into an office.
“Law firms have adapted well, and those who previously paused plans for growth due to the pandemic, are now pushing ahead.”
Some firms in Wales have benefitted from lockdown as demand grew for family law, employment and conveyancing support. Jobs in Family Law have featured heavily on our recruitment pages over the last 10 months as firms managed the predicted rise in divorce and complex children matters during lockdown.
