Huw Williams has been appointed to the permanent role of Chief Legal Adviser to the Senedd.
Huw has been undertaking the role at the Senedd on an interim basis. He was previously the senior partner in Cardiff of Geldards LLP and the lead partner in the public law team for many years.
Announcing the appointment, Manon Antoniazzi, Chief Executive and Clerk of the Senedd said:
“Huw’s wealth of experience has seen him already made a significant contribution to the work of the Senedd, and I am delighted that he will continue to provide us with his advice. At an exciting time of rapid change and challenge it will be critical to have someone of Huw’s stature and expertise in this key role.”
Huw Williams added:
“I am very pleased to have to opportunity to continue working with my excellent colleagues in the Senedd Legal Services to deliver outstanding parliamentary support to the Sixth Senedd.”
Huw is a member of the Law Society’s Wales Committee, a past chair of Public Law Wales, and has just completed his term of office as the chair of Legal Wales.
